FIFA Boss sends condolence following the death of Somalia coach

The president of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, has sent a condolence message to the Somali Football Federation (SFF) over the recent death of Somali football coach, Yusuf Ali Heydar.


In a letter addressed to Somalia Football federation president, Abdiqani Said Arab, the world football’s ruling body president, expressed shock and sadness over the tragic passing of Bariga Dhexe football club assistant coach, Yusuf Ali Heydar, who was killed in a shooting accident which also wounded two of Elman FC footballers on Monday.

"On behalf of FIFA and myself, please accept our sincerest condolences. Our thoughts are with Yusuf’s family and friends, as Well as the victims injured in these senseless acts” president Gianni Infantino said in his condolence message.



"The international football family extends its greatest sympathy to them at this difficult time. We hope that this message of solidarity may in some small way be a source of support and comfort for them” the message reads.

"Such message of solidarity from president Infantino shows how hugely the world football is always standing beside Somalia’s football family in all difficult circumstances” Somali Football Federation, said in a statement.

The injured players, Omar Moumin Dahir and Abdullahi Mohamed Mayow are still in a critical condition. Mayow who was wounded in the head most seriously remains in the emergency ward.
