The seminar which will last for three days has gathered
24 trainees from the country’s elite league clubs known here as the FDF
Division 1. The opening ceremony was attended by FDF president, Souleiman
Hassan waberi, his senior vice president, Mohamed Yonis, Secretary General,
Hassan Mohamed Kamil and members of the executive committee and club authorities.
In his opening speech, the president highlighted the
importance of such workshop for the football-growing country. "This seminar is a project
of the CAF which is aimed at professionalizing our Footballand it lays a
solid foundation for our football promotion. It is in line with the club
restructuring policy launched by the FDF just 3 years ago” president Souleiman
Hassan Waberi told in his opening speech.
"This system is aimed at improving the football clubs by setting minimum standards in key areas such as administration finance infrastructure and development of youth football” the president explained before announcing the opening of the seminar.
The seminar is being conducted by three high profile CAF
instructors who are: instructor for infrastructure Mr. Saidou Diou
Maigo [Niger], technical instructor Mr. Mohamed Sghaiei Zouita [Tunisia] and
administration instructor Mr Jérémie Manirakiza from Burundi.
Since president souleiman Hassan
Waberi, was elected in November 2012, football in Djibouti has made a number of
improvements in several key areas including the revival of women’s football,
the creation of beach soccer in the country for the first time, the
implementation of youth leagues, the establishment of annual schools tournament
for both boys and girls, the construction of new football facilities and
spreading football knowledge throughout the country.
