A total of 17 young age referees benefitted from the
5-day course which was organized by the FDF under the auspice of the Football’s
governing body of the world. Key government officials including some from the ministry
of sport attended the closing ceremony of the high profile course with
Djiboutian football federation leaders.
FIFA instructor, Pierry Gauthier (Belgium), who addressed at the conclusion ceremony,
said he was fully appreciating how professionally the course was arranged and
the country’s preparations for organizing the top level event.
Director of the ministry for youth and sport, Chirdon Khaireh, told the ceremony that the government of Djibouti recognizes the full worth of the country’s FA and its continued activities to promote football across the country.
"We see a big change of
football development in the country for the past two years and on behalf of the
government I commend the FDF for the huge work "Mr. Khaireh told the ceremony
on Wednesday.
The president of Djiboutian
Football Federation, Mr. Souleiman Hassan Waberi, said the course was part of
his federation’s efforts to build up the country’s Futsal competence with the
help from FIFA.
"I am very happy that we
have been able to implement most of the pledges I made after my election two
years ago and I am grateful to all those who assisted us to reach that goal”
the president said, thanking FIFA for its role to help develop football in the
country.
"By mid this month, we shall
organize a coaching course for Futsal coaches followed by the Futsal tournament”
the president noted adding that the competition will be hosted at the National
Futsal complex close to the Technical Centre.
