With the successful conclusion of this course in the
country, Djiboutian Football Federation President Souleiman Hassan Waberi
believes that beach soccer in his nation was now mature enough.
FIFA beach soccer refereeing instructor, Lakhdar
Benchambane told the closing ceremony that arriving in Djibouti and conducting
a course here was a very pleasant moment for him.
"So far I conducted courses in 3 African countries and
Djibouti is my 4th one, so It gives me a great pleasure that I have
come back to Africa again and doing a course---it is something very particular
interesting for me to convey my knowledge and experience to Africa where I am originally
from” the veteran instructor said.
The president of Djibouti Football Federation Souleiman Hassan Waberi, thanked FIFA under the leadership of president Joseph. S Blatter for giving much consideration to the football growing nation of Djibouti.
The president explained that that although beach soccer
was recently new to Djibouti, his Federation made more efforts to have the
beach soccer now fully in functioning in Djibouti.
" Last year we organized our first ever beach soccer
event which was FIFA beach soccer coaching course followed by a competition and
now we have ended the refereeing course, so this means that beach soccer
knowledge is now complete for Djibouti” said the president during his closing speech
on Wednesday.
"More beach soccer competitions will be held in the
country, so I want you to practice what you have learned in the upcoming beach
soccer events” President Souleiman Hassan Waberi told course participants.
However, with only less than two years of beach soccer
functioning in Djibouti, the president said that the country will participate
in the African Cup of Nations beach soccer tournament to be staged in Seychelles
in 2015.
