In a press statement issued here on Thursday, the Somali
Football Federation Chief Media officer Shafi’i Mohyaddin Abokar (ISLOW) said
that Somali FA was very much pleased with the emerge of such sports news portal
owned and administered by friendly football journalists.
"When the news that kaalin.com was launched has come to
light, it was a great and very cheerful moment for the entire Somali Football
Family members and that is because the website is owned by our long time friend
Mohamed Shurie Nur while another colleague journalist Haaruun Yusuf Khasaaro is
serving as the editor of the website” SFF Chief Media officer Shafi’i Mohyaddin
Abokar said in his press statement.
He praised the two young football journalists for lending a
forceful commitment to covering football activities across the war-devastated
country.
"Before launching his own website, Journalist Mohamed Shurie
Nur had always prioritised to spend much of his time in covering local Somali
Football and with establishing such website we believe that another friendly sports
media outlet was on air” the SFF Chief Media officer said in his press
statement.
As appears in its name ‘KAALIN’ which means ‘ROLE’ in
English language, the website is mainly intended to publish stories, comments
and interviews about the role of Somali Football in peace building, youth
rehabilitation and the promotion of the beautiful game throughout the country.
