The SFF said in a press statement that the competitions
will halt during Ramdan and that is because the Somali Football federation lets
the football-loving people in the country get an access to watch nationwide
football competitions to mark on the Ramadan during which young footballers
meet annually.
"During its meeting here at SFF headquarters today, the
competitions affairs committee decided that the Division C league second leg set
to resume on August 11, while the second leg of the Division B league will
resume on the 12th of August—that is after we have finished our
Ramadan period” competitions department chair person Ali Abdi Mohamed (Shiine)
said in a press statement Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Mr. Shiine said that the reconstruction of
Stadium Banadir is smoothly under way. He
noted the division ‘A’ football league is expected to commence on the 5thof September this year.
"Most of the reconstruction job has been done and we hope
that FIFA will complete the rest of the construction before the date we have
set for the start of our Division A league, which is the most populous sporting
event in the country” Mr. Ali Abdi Mohamed said in his press statement
Wednesday.
